STAR Financial Credit Union, formerly known as Pontiac Employee Federal, was founded in 1959 to provide quality financial services for the employees of Pontiac Refinery, which later became CITGO Refinery. Including 5 name changes, a lot has changed over the last 65 years by expanding the companies in our field of membership. What started out in a little office on the grounds of the refinery has grown to two full-service office locations with over 3,000 loyal members.

Individual savings accounts are federally insured up to a maximum of $250,000. NCUA (National Credit Union Association), a government agency, provides this coverage for shares, share certificates, and share draft accounts for which the insured Credit Union is liable.
